The political commentator says there is 'trouble ahead' for the Democrats

Joe Biden can “no longer be propped up” with the US President facing mutiny from sections of his own voter base, Lauren Chen has claimed.

The political commentator says there is “trouble ahead” for the Democrats as the party struggles with its stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Swathes of youngsters have taken to the streets of America demanding a ceasefire, a position at odds with the US President who is steadfast in his support for Israel.

According to Chen, this is sowing the seeds of a conflict in the Democrat Party as Biden already faces questions over his future.

Speaking to GB News, she questioned whether Biden can carry out a second presidential term.

“There’s no question that he is, whether you’re Democrat or Republican, frankly, just not physically and mentally fit to serve as president”, she said.

“He has maintained that he is absolutely going to be running again in 2024.

“I think if you’re a leftist, you have to eventually just embrace the idea we can have a Bernie [Sanders] situation here. You can no longer keep propping Biden up as an actual legitimate candidate.”

Speaking on national issues such as the economy and immigration, Chen added there is “a lot of trouble” ahead for the Biden administration.

“The traditional Democrat progressive base, especially young voters, we see everything kicking off in Israel and Palestine, that unity is chipping away”, she said.

“There have been huge protests in tens of thousands of people, mostly Democrats, chanting things like ‘Genocide Joe’.

“It looks like red flags all over the place for the Biden administration.”

The US President this week celebrated his 81st birthday as Americans continue to question whether he should be carrying out the role at his age.

He is already the oldest President on record, and a second presidential term would take him through to 86.

Biden marked the occasion by pardoning two turkeys at a Thanksgiving ceremony, before making another blunder.

Quipping that their luck was like getting tickets to a Taylor Swift concert, he got the singer’s name wrong.
