Ken Wharfe, a former royal protection officer to Princess Diana, said he’s “thankful Harry is back”

A former royal bodyguard has told Nigel Farage that Prince William was “always jealous” of Prince Harry’s personality.

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals in 2020 before moving to the US.

Since then, the pair have sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they made an accusation of racism against an unnamed member of the Royal Family.

But Harry and Meghan have now arrived back in the UK to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

And Ken Wharfe, a former royal protection officer to Princess Diana has said he’s “thankful Harry is back”.

Speaking on GB News’ Farage, Mr Wharf said: “Here is a young man that’s been the centre of a great deal of royal controversy over many, many years.

“And thankfully he’s back now in the UK to pay his respects to grandmother.”

Before Nigel asked: “He’s let the side down, hasn’t he?”

To which Mr Wharfe replied by giving an insight into Harry in his early years.

He added: “What I would say is, and I’m not defending anybody Nigel, I’m coming in having worked with this young boy, he was three when I first met him.

“He was an incredible character, his brother William was always jealous of his personality because Harry was always the fun maker, the entertainer.

“Suddenly, he has an amazing career in the army, he’s pulled out of the army, not out of his own choice but by circumstances which everybody now understands.

“And then he marries Meghan Markle and things start to go downhill badly."

He continued: “But you have to try and put yourself in his shoes, he decided his course of action was to represent the best interest of his wife.

“I know it's controversial, but I mentioned the Queen, she said you do what you want, but you can’t have it both ways and I think that’s hung over his head for a long time.”
