The National Lottery operator confirmed that no claim was received before the deadline passed

A lottery player has forfeited a £1million EuroMillions prize after failing to claim their winning ticket within the required timeframe.

The ticket was purchased locally for the draw on December 27, 2024, but the winner never came forward during the 180-day claiming period.

The deadline expired at midnight on Wednesday, June 25.

The unclaimed fortune will now be redirected to National Lottery Good Causes to fund projects across Wiltshire.

The ticket holder had approximately six months to claim their prize but missed the opportunity to collect the life-changing sum.

The National Lottery operator confirmed that no claim was received before the deadline passed.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners' Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: "I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money.

"However, the money will now go to Good Causes and add to the more than £30million raised each week for National Lottery-funded projects - amazing projects like Alzheimer's Support, Wilton Riding for the Disabled, Broham Community Hub and Dorothy House Hospice, all of which are in Wiltshire and have helped make the county a better place to live for everyone."
