While the row over Prince Harry's security rages on, the couple will now be protected by Michael Jackson's former bodyguard

Prince Harry was spotted cycling alongside Michael Jackson's former bodyguard Alberto Alvarez, in sunny Los Angeles earlier this week.

Exiting their £10million mansion in Montecito, the Duke of Sussex left his wife Meghan Markle with their children Archie and Lilibet, while he took to the road on an electric bike.

Mr Alvarez, who was pictured riding directly behind Harry, was present with Michael Jackson on the night he died and testified at the 2011 trial into the death of pop legend.

He has over 15 years of experience protecting high end celebrities, including One Direction.

The safety of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the UK came under question after an application for police protection was denied in 2020.

Harry's safety has been the focal point of a security debate in recent months.

The Duke applied for police protection in January 2020 when he visited the UK, offering to fund it personally, but the offer was "dismissed".

Meghan also came under attack by her sister yesterday evening.

In an exclusive interview with GB News presenter Dan Wootton, Samantha Markle lashed out at the Duchess of Sussex stating she knew "her dad was tortured" by the media but failed to contact him.

Her comments follow reports that Thomas Markle suffered a severe stroke that led to him losing his speech.

When probed by Dan whether Meghan had contacted her family since the incident, Samantha replied "no".

Harry and Meghan are currently preparing to travel from their Californian home to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations next week.

Forbes estimated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex cough up between $2 to $3million to fund their security team in the US.
