ITV bosses are searching for a replacement to Phillip Schofield after the veteran This Morning co-host quit the show in late May

A This Morning star has broken his silence on her future on the show as ITV continues its search for co-host to join Holly Willoughby.

Rochelle Humes, 34, spoke about her future on ITV’s flagship daytime show during a Q&A with her Instagram followers.

The former Saturdays singer confirmed she will return to the show as a relief presenter.

She was asked: "Are you still hosting This Morning?"

Humes, who last appeared on the programme some months ago, replied: “Yes, I’m back in the summer.”

The mother-of-three voiced her thoughts about the situation engulfing This Morning after Phillip Schofield was forced to quit after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague.

Following Schofield’s decision to quit, Humes said on social media: “I've proudly been part of the This Morning family for almost 10 years and over the last few, it has been an absolute pleasure learning so much from you.

"Thanks for all the lessons - you are a fountain of knowledge and laughter."

ITV bosses are still searching for Schofield's permanent replacement.

However, Willoughby has already been joined by several stand-in co-hosts on the This Morning sofa since her return last month.

Josie Gibson, Dermot O’Leary and Craig Doyle have all appeared alongside the mother-of-three.

Willoughby managed to have a brief escape from the situation after being spotted at Glastonbury music festival last week.

Schofield headed down to Cornwall to see his 87-year-old mother following his departure from This Morning.

The 61-year-old sat beside mother Pat at a hospital in the South West while she was being treated for an unknown condition for several days.

Pat returned to her home a few days ago as Schofield prepares to spend time in Newquay for the foreseeable future while she recuperates.
