The Stranger Things star has divided fans with her remarks

Millie Bobby Brown, the star of Stranger Things and the new Netflix fantasy thriller Damsel, has caused a stir thanks to a new podcast interview.

The 20-year-old discussed her culinary preferences when it comes to dining out and couldn't resist criticising the routine of ordering food.

After admitting she "hates" sharing food, Brown broke into a rant about what else she dislikes about the restaurant experience.

"Do you know what I hate?" she said to Table Manners hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware. "Waiting a really long time to order. Like, come on!"

Singer Ware agreed as she chimed in: "Millie! You're speaking my language, girl! I'm literally like, 'I've already looked at the menu before.' Sit me down, let's go."

Brown excitedly agreed as she continued: "Yes! And then they’re like, 'We’ll just get your drinks orders and then come back', I’m like, 'No, no, no, stand here, let’s just take the whole thing. It will make your life easier'. Plus, I just want the food to keep going.

"And that's the same thing for the bill. You know when they put it down on the table but then come back half an hour later? I’m like, 'Let me give you my card just right now and I must go on a walk to walk this food off'."

Elsewhere in the interview, Brown asked the Wares if they left reviews under an alias - something the Stranger Things star admitted to doing.

She defended her actions by explaining: "Here’s the thing, my whole life is people criticising me, so I’m going to give it back to you sometimes.

"Once we were at a hotel and the woman was pulling my fiancé aside saying that we needed to settle the payment or whatever.

"And I was like, 'Yeah, we will but at the end of our stay, we're still staying here.' And she was just like, 'Yeah, but you could settle it now'. And I was like, 'Hmmm, I don’t want to'."

When asked what the review said, Brown revealed: "(I said), 'I really think you should encourage guests to complete transactions and payments at the end of their stay'."

Brown also described herself as a "Karen" for the way she deals with poor customer service.

After clips of the podcast were released on the show's Instagram, several fans took to the comments slam Brown's comments.

"Millie didn't come across that well in these clips. #highmaintenance Not as chill as your usual guests," one listener slammed before a second weighed in: "Tell me you never worked in the hospitality without telling me you never worked in hospitality."

"Waiters stall with drinks so the kitchen doesn't get swamped and they don't get yelled at by chefs," a third explained before a fourth said: "Someone already said this but I’ll say it again - there is a reason servers don’t take the full order immediately.

"I don’t understand why people who have never worked in food hospitality think they should have a food podcast/whatever this is."

And another hit out: "Yikes a main course of entitled with a side of petulance. Yes, she is very young and probably a wonderful actor but imagine her ego in another 10 years."

However, Brown also received plenty of support from fans who defended the actor amid the uproar.

"LOVE HER! Keeping it real," one person argued before a second similarly hit out: "Preach! 100% with you on this; except i don't mind sharing."

And another praised: "Totally agree with all these points on this clip. I feel relieved it’s not just me!

"I’ll also add a pet peeve - when plates start being cleared whilst ppl at the table are still eating!" (sic)
