Weather: Very mild and mostly dry for many today

Today:

Sunny spells for most areas with much of eastern, southern and central UK dry for much of the time. More unsettled, and windier, in the northwest where some showers and also coastal gales, especially northwest Scotland. Exceptionally mild again.

Tonight:

Turning more unsettled with evening showers and rain in the northwest and southeast becoming more widespread overnight when many see some rain at times. Windy. Mild in the south.

Sunday:

More unsettled with a mixture of sunny spells and showers or longer spells of rain, heavy at times. Windy and blustery gusty at times, especially in the south. Very mild.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Becoming colder early next week as cloud and outbreaks of rain and hill snow clearing south. Wintry showers following with overnight frost before turning unsettled and less cold midweek.
