UK weather: Flood alerts as heavy rain forecast in southern England
Ben Birchall
Flood alerts have been issued in parts of southern England, with heavy rain set to hit the south coast.
Scotland and Northern Ireland are also due wet weather but it is expected to be less severe.
Parts of northern England should remain largely dry with some sunshine and the possible odd shower. Rain is set to ease into tonight, though heavier bursts may continue in the south-east.
The top temperature in Britain will be around 17C, with a low of 12C in northern Scotland, however it will feel cooler than that.
