The supermarket's Aperini Superiore is positioned as a cheaper alternative to Aperol

Aldi's Aperini Superiore (£6.99) has been crowned 'Best Aperitif in the Country' at the World Liqueur Awards 2025, securing a gold medal at the prestigious competition.

The acclaimed, "star-studded" beverage makes a triumphant return to stores this year, delighting loyal fans.

Its revival comes at the perfect time, as British consumers turn to social media in search of tasty summer tipples.

Indeed, the TikTok hashtag #summercocktails has surpassed a whopping 466 million views.

Priced at £6.99 for a 70cl bottle, the Aperini Superiore is now available in Aldi stores nationwide, positioning itself as an affordable option for summer entertaining.

The award-winning spirit offers significant savings for home mixologists, costing up to 60 per cent less than its high-end alternative, Aperol.

The timing aligns with growing demand for affordable cocktail ingredients, with Aldi noting that shoppers are "rushing to TikTok to find inspiration for their summer cocktails".

The supermarket emphasised that its award-winning aperitif is "perfect for summer aperitivos or cocktails in the garden".

This latest accolade adds to Aldi's expanding collection of award-winning alcoholic beverages as the supermarket dominates the market.

Earlier this year, Aldi's Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut claimed the World's Best Champagne title at the World Champagne Awards 2025, "triumphing" over luxury competitors despite costing just £14.95.

The champagne, which has been "crafted to perfection" using a classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes, undergoes maturation in cellars to develop its "complexity and length".

As described by Aldi, the winning champagne offers "aromas of ripe apple, soft red fruit, and delicate florals".

With this winning offering, the retailer "cemented its place as a game-changer in the world of fine wine and champagne".

For those keen to put it to the test, Aldi's Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut is available nationwide at £14.95 for a 75cl bottle.

Aldi has also launched its first sparkling orange wine, priced at £9.99 for a 75cl bottle, bringing what the supermarket describes as an upmarket wine bar staple to mainstream shelves.

The Specially Selected Chassaux et Fils Sparkling Orange Wine offers "a bright and zippy expression" with an aromatic profile.

The supermarket noted that "the nose lifts with notes of apricot and subtle floral tones, while the palate follows with a gentle tannic grip adding texture and intrigue".

The wine also delivers a "lingering impression" of zesty orange marmalade and mineral notes.

All three award-winning drinks remain under £15, reinforcing Aldi's position in the premium alcoholic beverages market at budget prices.

For customers seeking a sweet treat, Aldi recently introduced new "luxury" chouxnuts that shoppers "won't want to miss".

The discount retailer also tapped into the nation's most recent chocolate obsession, unveiling a new concoction that promises a "viral sensation without the hefty price tag".
