Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ali Carter go head-to-head at the Tour Championship for the first time since their clash in the final of the Masters.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has revealed he's got a new personal 'policy' where he won't ever speak about other players again after being asked whether he agreed with Ali Carter about moving on from their previous grievances.

The two snooker rivals have had a tetchy relationship ever since they barged shoulders at the 2018 World Championships.

Their bad blood came back to the surface at this year's Masters when Carter accused O'Sullivan of 'snotting all over the floor' during their match.

His comments led to an astonishing press conference from O'Sullivan where he launched an expletive attack on his rival.

The two face off against each other at the Tour Championship for the first time since that match at the start of the year.

Carter has seemingly tried to move on from the feud, crediting O'Sullivan as the best player in the history of the sport.

But O'Sullivan took a different approach when asked how he felt about the whole situation with Carter.

"I don't comment on players now, I've learnt my lesson," he told ITV.

"There's no value in it for me, if they say something about me and it becomes a headline.

"What am I actually gaining from this? I'm not actually gaining anything from this.

"I'm happy with my life, my job, what I do and I just want to delete that stuff.

"I just need to make that a policy.

"As far as I'm concerned it's not something I want to get involved in ever again."

"I relish the challenge now because he's the best player to pick up a cue," Carter said on ITV.

"To play him in another quarter-final - I've played him in a final this year - I'm in the right place.

"It's a great practice match for the World Championships."

He added: "Coming here, all I wanted to do was get as many best-of-19s in the bank as I can.

"What better match than to play the greatest player of all time?

"I'm under no pressure, only the pressure I put on myself to perform.

"But I've put the work in, my preparations are good. We'll see what happens."
