The charity showpiece returns to the Theatre of Dreams with an unprecedented contingent of Red Devils legends divided between England and the World XI.

Completing the historic tally, United's Treble-winning goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel will manage the World XI from the touchline.

Rooney, who has yet to secure a return to management since being sacked by Plymouth Argyle last December, will serve in a unique dual capacity as both player and coach for England.

The former United striker joins Harry Redknapp in the dugout alongside Tyson Fury and Vicky McClure.

Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick will reunite in England's midfield, whilst Gary Neville adds defensive experience to the Three Lions' ranks, with Jill Scott captaining the side.

The World XI boasts an equally impressive United contingent, with Leonardo Bonucci partnering Vidic in defence and Van der Sar between the posts.

Soccer Aid has established itself as football's largest charity match, raising over £106 million for Unicef since Robbie Williams founded the event in 2006.

Last year's edition at Stamford Bridge broke records by generating more than £15 million for the children's charity.

The match harnesses "the power of football to support children around the world to grow up safe, healthy and able to play."

This year's fundraising efforts have already begun, with Sam Thompson completing a 260-mile journey carrying the match ball from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford across five days, raising over £1.5 million.

England secured a commanding 6-3 victory at Stamford Bridge last year, ending the World XI's five-year winning streak.

That took the score between the two teams over the years to 7-6 in favour of the World XI, with England looking to level it up with seven apiece on Sunday.

The match kicks off on June 15 at 7:30pm BST and will be broadcast free on ITV1, ITVX and STV.
