John Fury is unhappy with the former boxing star for comments made about his son

Tyson Fury's father, John Fury, has been brutally dubbed 'Uncle Fester' amid the 59-year-old's ongoing feud with Carl Froch.

Froch recently questioned Fury's record, saying: "How good is Tyson Fury? What’s he ever done? Who’s he actually beaten?"

John has since challenged the former boxing star to a fight at Wembley, with the 59-year-old throwing down the gauntlet earlier this week.

Froch, for his part, has made it clear he isn't interested because he feels John would be out of his depth.

And Simon Jordan has now ripped into John, dubbing the 59-year-old 'Uncle Fester'.

He told talkSPORT: “I’ve never seen a world champion have his father so prevalent in the media.

“Maybe, somehow, we’re all responsible for this.

“I made the observation yesterday that I don’t want to see Uncle Fester in the ring with Carl Froch.”

Former footballer Danny Murphy then proceeded to defend John. He retorted: “That’s a bit derogatory, why are you calling people names?”

Yet Jordan was unrepentful and continued his rant by saying: "I don't care.

"Some of these observations, it started on a premise that Carl Froch suggested Tyson Fury’s record needs to be analysed as he’s fought six world title fights, three against the same fella, and two against people he’s already beaten, and one against Wladimir Klitschko.

“That has now turned into the underlying narrative that if anyone criticises a Fury they are a hater, they should be banned, and is trying to profit off their name.

“Forgetting the fact these guys made their money via the media because the media highlights, promotes and accentuates their opportunity. I think it’s ridiculous.

“It’s interesting that there are other people that John Fury is supposed to be fighting like Joe Egan.. he doesn’t seem particularly eager to fight him.

"Or Micky Theo, who was supposed to have a fight with him.

“He’s not interested in those fights, but is interested in Carl Froch because he would get paid.

“I don’t know if the Fury gang think everybody is foolish and everyone is a mug and everyone is there to make them a fortune, but it’s got to the point now with his son, where you’ve got this reaction to the fight being cancelled on the weekend, and a lot of the social media reaction to it is doubting Fury’s integrity.

“I don’t doubt his integrity about a cut, but what I don’t doubt is the reaction to Fury is becoming more and more ambivalent, which it shouldn’t be because he’s the heavyweight champion of the world and a British one.”

Jordan has continued his attack on the Fury family in an article for the Daily Mail.

"I was a huge admirer of Tyson Fury as an athlete and as a charismatic personality but that has been dramatically diminished over the last 12 months," he wrote.

"His fight with Oleksandr Usyk has been postponed but if he’s been cut, he’s been cut.

"They’ve rescheduled the fight so what’s the big deal? Well, the big deal is that people have become a bit fed up with Fury."

He continued: "His behaviour, attitude and disposition has been quite unpalatable recently and that’s made people ambivalent towards him.

"He certainly doesn’t have the support he should have.

"He’s a British heavyweight champion of the world and someone we should be proud of but when you hear some of the stupid things he and those around him come out with, it’s difficult to feel that way."

Fury, meanwhile, is currently back in the UK after his fight with Oleksandr Usyk was postponed.

The duo had been due to meet on February 17 - but will now go up against each other on May 18 instead.
