Prince William and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, will attend The Royal Cornwall Show on Friday, June 6, to celebrate and highlight Cornish heritage and tradition through agriculture, food and drink, entertainment and competition.

The show was established in 1793 by the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, which aims to promote and support the further improvement of agriculture, associated industries, and the people within it.

Over 200 years later, the show has become one of the biggest agricultural shows in the country, attracting around 120,000 visitors annually. This marks Prince William's first visit as Duke of Cornwall, whilst the Duchess last attended in 2014.

On arrival, Their Royal Highnesses will first visit the Royal Cornwall Food and Farming Pavilion, which showcases dozens of the best artisan food and drink producers from across Cornwall. The pavilion features Cornish cheeses, jams and preserves, as well as gins and other spirits.

The producers compete for various awards each year, including the best newcomer and the overall Cornish Food Champion.

Following this joint visit, Sophie and her nephew will visit different parts of the show separately to focus on their respective patronages and interests.

William, 42, will visit the Duchy of Cornwall hub, where this year's show is putting a spotlight on rural mental health by highlighting various local charities, including Pentreath Cornwall Rural Community Charity, Georgia's Voice, Kooth, Man Down, PAPRUS and Sunrise.

The father-of-three will be greeted by charity representatives at the hub, which aligns closely with the Duke's passion for supporting the mental health of the Duchy of Cornwall's farming tenants.

William will then visit the Local Nature Partnership Regenerative/Agricultural education hub, hosted by the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership and Cornwall Council.

The hub brings together organisations and projects to discuss balancing traditional farming skills with future regenerative farming practices.

The Prince of Wales will also present the Duke of Cornwall's award, given to the farm business that has successfully delivered a sustainable approach to farming, forestry and food production within Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.

The Duchess of Edinburgh will visit two organisations of which she is Patron: LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming), a leading organisation promoting sustainable food and farming practices by inspiring and enabling more circular approaches to farming and food systems.

Sophie, 60, will then visit the Girl Guides, who have played an important role in the running of the Royal Cornwall Show for many years.

They work as a messaging team during the show, including delivering results from livestock rings and other sections to the Show Office.

Following this, the mother-of-two will visit the Cattle, Pig, Sheep and countryside area.

On departure, William and Sophie will sign the Royal Cornwall Show visitor book.
