Angela Levin joined Nana Akua on GBN America

Meghan Markle is set for a tough time with her ‘ridiculous’ new lifestyle brand, according to a royal author.

Angela Levin joined Nana Akua on GBN America to criticise the Duchess of Sussex, who she believes ‘could have had it all’.

Instead, Meghan has stepped back from royal duties since marrying Prince Harry and the couple have been forced to live off income from projects while displaced from royal life.

The Duchess’s latest venture has now been backed to struggle by Levin as people ‘know what she’s like’, suggesting she will come up short in a search for potential investors.

“Putting one page up for her new website was ridiculous because nothing has followed it”, she said.

“People don’t want to put money into it. They don’t because they know that she is like and know that she’s very difficult.

“People aren’t necessarily wanting to buy jam, tablecloths and birdseeds.”

Levin also hit out at Meghan for the timing of the announcement, which happened last month.

On the same night, Harry made an appearance at the Diana Award via a video link, which threw Meghan’s decision into question.

“She took away his spotlight moment”, Levin said.

“I thought that was very cruel. I wondered whether it had all been timed so it would come one after the other.

“Harry gets very, very little. She takes over. Unfortunately for him, she did it because she couldn’t bear him to be in the spotlight.”

Meghan unveiled the brand as American Riviera Orchard with a short video appearing to show her cooking, posing in a hallway in a ballgown and arranging some flowers.

Royal fans flocked to Instagram to follow the account but are still waiting to learn of her next move.

The Duchess has been tipped to make a rare trip to the UK next month to join Prince Harry for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.

But royal commentator Charles Rae admitted he is sceptical, telling GB News that she is ‘pencilled in as TBC’.

“I will believe it when I see it”, he said.

“Until I see her step off that plane I do not believe that she will be here. I think too much has gone on, and I'm sure that if she does come she will get a very cuddly and warm welcome.”
