The Late Show Live will launch in September as part of a major expansion

GB News’ eagerly awaited new US programme will be called The Late Show Live, the People’s Channel announced today.

Hosted by Bev Turner, The Late Show Live, will debut in September, and will broadcast live from the channel’s newly established studio and bureau in Washington DC, which is strategically located near the White House.

The two-hour nightly programme (midnight to 2am) marks an exciting new chapter in GB News’ expansion across the US, and will offer exclusive coverage of American politics, high-profile interviews, and live updates all from the heart of the US capital.

Ben Briscoe, Head of Programming and Talent at GB News, said: "The launch of The Late Show Live is a major milestone in GB News’ ongoing growth.

"Our audience has expressed a clear demand for real-time, in-depth coverage from Washington and beyond, and this new show will deliver exactly that.

"With exclusive interviews and fresh segments every night, Late Show Live will be unmissable viewing."

The new programme will add 14 hours of live content to GB News each week, further solidifying the channel’s commitment to delivering live news at a time when many of its rivals are reducing their coverage.

In addition to The Late Show Live, GB News will soon announce the appointment of a dedicated US Political Editor, further strengthening its Capitol Hill operation and expanding its American team.

The US expansion follows the success of Steven Edginton, who was appointed last year as GB News' US Correspondent. Edginton’s first documentary for the channel, America’s Muslim City, received widespread acclaim for its fearless storytelling and insightful reporting.

GB News is also significantly increasing its reach across the US by providing free access to its content for all American viewers.

The channel has already garnered impressive attention, with its YouTube channel attracting more than a quarter of a billion views in the US.

This growth comes at a time when rival networks like the BBC are introducing paywalls for US-based viewers.

BBC.com recently announced plans to charge Americans for access to much of its news content, including its live news stream. In contrast, GB News remains steadfast in its commitment to free, open access for US audiences.

GB News’ expansion into the US is part of the channel’s broader surge in popularity. In January, SimilarWeb’s prestigious Digital 100 rankings named GBNews.com the fastest-growing news website in America, with its US audience growing by an astounding 420 per cent over the past year.

GBNews.com now attracts nearly 2.6 million monthly US users, a massive jump from just over half a million in 2023. Since its launch in 2022, the site has welcomed over 55 million US visitors.

Further proof of GB News' rapid growth came in the Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2025, which named the channel the fourth-largest news media outlet in the UK. Based on reach across TV , radio, and print, GB News outranked major networks like Channel Four News, Channel Five News, and CNN, climbing from eighth place the previous year.

GBNews.com now ranks as the sixth largest news platform in the UK, surpassing outlets like The Times Online, Mirror Online, and Yahoo News.
