Meghan Markle's fans took issue with Princess Kate's new "protocol-breaking" hairstyle on Wednesday, where she wore her hair in a low bun with side bangs out to frame her face.
This was a style that the Duchess of Sussex frequently wore as a working royal, including on her wedding day in 2018 to marry Prince Harry.
At the time, some royal fans criticised Meghan's "messy bun" hairstyle for breaking royal protocol.
Fans of the Duchess took to social media on Wednesday to criticise Kate for wearing a similar hairstyle, however, the Princess of Wales's supporters praised her elegant new look.

One royal watcher posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Can't be surprised Kate is attempting to recreate Meghan's signature messy bun."
They added: "She weaponises protocol against Meghan Markle to later steal her whole style and persona."
Another fan commented: "Before Meghan, the messy bun was breaking protocol. Meghan's protocol breaches opened the door for Kate Middleton to follow. Kate copied Meghan’s messy bun."
One social media user said: "Kate desperately trying to duplicate Meghan's natural style.

"Meghan was abused by the media for wearing a messy bun, while Kate was praised for keeping her hair in a net," someone else added.
However, the Princess of Wales's fans came to her defence. One posted a photograph of Kate wearing a beautiful bun at the 2015 premiere of Spectre on X.
They captioned the post: "Friendly reminder to the usual derangers out there: Catherine chose to style her hair like this in 2015 too, when she attended the premiere of the new James Bond movie Spectre.
