“Whether it’s in business, science, the arts, politics, the legislator, academia, philanthropy, British Jews punch way above their weight when it comes to making a difference for the better.

“It is time we recognised and celebrate these outstanding achievements.”

The Jewish community has suffered greatly all over the world since the attacks by Hamas on October 7 which took the lives of 1,139 people, this included 696 Israeli Civilians and 36 children.

Many Jews in Britain have lost loved ones in the attacks or know someone that have, the community has been deeply affected by the events of that day which led to 14 British citizens losing their lives.

Many Jews in the UK have suffered an increase in antisemitism with thousands of incidents taking place since October 7, students attending school and university have been affected the most.

Gary Mond, Chairman of the National Jewish Assembly, told GB News: “Introducing a British Jewish History Month would be an excellent development.

"Jewish history in the UK is rich with examples of highly positive contributions made to our country by members of the Jewish community.

Mond added: “Furthermore, awareness of the roles played in the UK by Jews over the past few hundred years might serve as a useful bulwark against antisemitism, which tragically has now reached record levels.

"I hope that a British Jewish History Month proceeds."

The UK currently celebrates several occasions in the calendar such as LGBT History month, Black History Month amongst many others.

And now the calls for a British Jewish History Month are growing louder.
