It comes despite the 46th President having threatened to sack staff if they treated colleagues with ‘disrespect’

Joe Biden’s aides have been trying to avoid meeting with the 80-year-old Commander-in-Chief alone, it has been claimed.

The US President is prone to angry outbursts and occasionally shows flashes of bad temper in public.

Two authors have interviewed numerous members of Biden’s inner circle who claimed the President flares up when he senses condescension or feels boxed in.

Alex Thompson, a reporter for Axios, wrote: “Behind closed doors, Biden has such a quick-trigger temper that some aides try to avoid meeting alone with him.

“Some take a colleague, almost as a shield against a solo blast.

“The President’s admonitions include: ‘God dammit, how the f**k don’t you know this?’, ‘Don’t f***ing b******t me!’ and ‘Get the f**k out of here!’, according to current and former Biden aides who have witnessed and been on the receiving end of such outbursts.”

Chris Whipple, author of The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden’s White House, added: “It’s the worst kept secret in Washington that Joe does have a temper.”

Biden reportedly sometimes blames his short fuse on his Irish roots.

However, it is not just in private where the US President has launched into an expletive tirade.

He was caught up in a “hot mic” moment last January after calling Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b***h”.

Biden, who is seeking re-election next year, is also known for his gaffes.

The 80-year-old recently claimed Vladimir Putin is losing the war in Iraq.

He even concluded his speech at the National Safety Communities Summit in Connecticut by saying: “God save the Queen, man.”

However, other Commanders-in-Chief have been accused of tearing into White House staff.

Donald Trump publicly lambasted former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson as “dumb as a rock”.

He previously described the ex-ExxonMobil CEO as a “star”.

The pair could possibly face-off next year in a re-run of the 2020 US Presidential Election.

Opinion polls suggest the race is too close to call, with HarrisX putting Trump level with Biden on 44 per cent.
