A foreign advisor to the US House Foreign Affairs Committee has said that America is feeling "concerned" for King Charles following his cancer diagnosis.
The King was diagnosed with cancer earlier this week and Buckingham Palace confirmed that he is receiving treatment.
The King has postponed all public-facing duties but will continue with behind-the-scenes work on his red boxes of state papers.
Speaking to GBN America, Lee Cohen, foreign advisor on the UK to the US House Foreign Affairs Committee said: "I want to wish every good outcome for the King and pray for his swift and full recovery. And I know my countrymen join me in that.

"So we are concerned for him. We need him. We want him to be strong, and we want him to get well soon."
The Duke of Sussex flew from the US to the UK after news broke that King Charles had taken ill.
Harry arrived at Heathrow Airport and travelled to Clarence House to see his father for no longer than 45 minutes before the King and Queen headed to Sandringham and Harry went to his hotel.

Prince Harry then left the following day and returned to his wife and children in the States.
Speaking of Harry, Cohen said: "Confronting the mortality of one's beloved and long forgiving parent is life-changing.
"If anything good is to come of this experience, let's hope that it moves Harry to beg forgiveness and change his way.
"So you know the crime in all of this is the just when our attention should be on the King himself.

Harry quit his position as a senior royal in January 2020 and moved to the US.
He has since done various interviews about the Royal Family and criticised them heavily in his biography, Spare, which was released last year.
Harry's wife and two children stayed at home in the US whilst The Duke visited his father The King.
