Rolf Harris, who was convicted of sexual assaulting four underage girls in 2014, has died aged 93.

The disgraced former TV star died of neck cancer and “frailty of old age” at his home in Bray, Berkshire, on May 10, according to his death certificate.

Harris had been "very sick" with neck cancer since leaving prison six years ago and was said to be receiving care from nurses and carers on a daily basis before his death.

A private ambulance was photographed outside his riverside home earlier this month.

The former entertainer was reportedly struggling to talk or eat and has been living as a near-recluse at his £5million home in Berkshire since he was freed from jail in 2017.

The Australian-born presenter was a family favourite for decades before being convicted of a string of indecent assaults in June 2014.

These included one with an eight-year-old autograph hunter, two with girls in their early teens and a catalogue of abuse against his daughter's friend over 16 years.

Harris was jailed for five years and nine months after being convicted of 12 assaults which took place between 1968 and 1986.

In November 2017, he appeared at the Court of Appeal to try and overturn his convictions and had one overturned.

He was the second person convicted under the national inquiry, set up in the wake of abuse claims against late DJ and entertainer Jimmy Savile.

Following his conviction, Harris had his 2012 Bafta fellowship removed, was stripped of his CBE and also had Australian honours taken away.

In a statement released by his solicitor, his family said: "Rolf Harris recently died peacefully surrounded by family and friends and has now been laid to rest. They ask that you respect their privacy. No further comment will be made".

Harris' health has deteriorated in recent years and that he was hospitalised while in prison when his diabetes spiralled out of control.

He hadn't spoken publicly since his release from jail in 2017.

Harris is survived by his wife Alwen, 91, a jeweller and sculptor who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, and his daughter Bindi.
