Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will end up “having to give up” their royal status amid pressure from their US fans, an author has claimed.
Meghan and Harry stepped down from their roles as senior royals in 2020 before moving the US to live.
Despite stepping away from the Royal Family, the pair still use their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.
But royal author Tom Bower, who has recently released a biography titled: Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, believes they will eventually have to give up the titles.

Mr Bower said that Meghan and Harry had used the “royal card” too much, with their US followers beginning to lose interest.
The royal author said: “When Meghan called up two US senators to campaign for maternity pay, she introduced herself as Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
“She plays the royal card the whole time. I don't think that will play well in an election for Congress or Senate if she did pursue politics."
"I think they have to realign their image. In any case, they are burning their royal status pretty fast now. I think they will, in the end, have to give that up because it won't wash," he told Palace Confidential.
It comes after Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr joked on GB News’ Dan Wootton Tonight that he would “move to the UK” if she ever got into politics.
Dan asked Mr Markle: “When you were growing up with her, did you ever get a sense that she harboured political ambitions?"
Mr Markle replied: “Never, never got a sense that she was after anything political whatsoever, it was always fairy tales and princesses, that’s what she focused on.
“As far as politics go, if that ever happens, I’ll probably move to the UK.”
