A town councillor has resigned over allegations that he is the street artist Banksy.
William Gannon, of Pembroke Dock’s Bufferland Ward in south west Wales, said he was stepping down because “the allegation is undermining my ability to work on the council”.
Mr Gannon also thanked his followers for the support “that you have given me in the past”.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Mr Gannon wrote: “As you may be aware an allegation has been repeatedly made that I am not who I say I am but that I am the artist Banksy.
“This allegation is undermining my ability to do the work of councillor and council rep properly.
“Therefore, I have decided to step down as both town councillor and council rep to the port with immediate effect.
"I do not want this allegation to undermine the reputation of Pembroke Dock Town Council.
“Thank you for all of the support that you have given me in the past.”
Bansky is an English-based street artist and activist whose, despite his international fame, identity remains unknown.
His pieces includes “balloon girl”, which depicts a young girl with her hand extended toward a red heart-shaped balloon carried away by the wind.
He also painted “One Nation Under CCTV” in 2007 on Newman Street in London, which showed a child in a red top painting the title of the work on the wall, while being watched by a police officer and a dog.
