Aldi has recalled a pasta bake over the presence of an undeclared allergen, making it a potential health risk.
The supermarket giant was obliged to pull its Meat Feast Pasta Bake from shelves after the packaging failed to mention it contains mustard.
In a customer notice, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) declared that mustard could potentially present issues to allergic persons.
The FSA said: “Aldi is recalling the above product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, who will tell their members about the recall.

“The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers how the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
“This product contains mustard making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.”
Aldi also issued a statement about the recall on its website, stating: “Anyone who bought this product should return it to their store for a full refund.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
The FSA states that the Carlos Takeaway Meat Feast Pasta Bake products have a ‘best before date’ of February 25, 26 and/or 27, 2024.
The supermarket listed several point-of-sales that could be affected by the recall:
- Atherstone
- Bathgate
- Bolton
- Chelmsford
- Darlington
- Goldthorpe
- Neston
- Sawley
- Swindon
- Cardiff
- Sheppey
The recall marks one of several issued in recent months, with another recall still in effect due to a risk of broken glass.

The supermarket chain gave a warning to customers over Cozmo perfume bottles due to a fault that may cause the glass bottle to break.
It stated at the time: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling this product due to a fault which may cause the bottle to break.
It added: “We have removed the products from sale in our stores and are recalling all affected products.”Aldi's Haggis En Croute was also recalled from Scottish stores ahead of Burns Night last month after being with the wrong date code.
The supermarket issued an emergency warning over the product and removed all affected batches from stores.
