BBC Radio presenter Laverne shared the news of her diagnosis on Wednesday
Gabby Logan has penned a touching message of support to BBC colleague Lauren Laverne after the 46-year-old revealed she'd been diagnosed with cancer.
The Desert Island Discs presenter took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the news with her fans that she was currently in hospital after doctors discovered the illness.
The news came as an "unexpected" blow to Laverne who admitted she'd only visited the hospital for a screening test.
However, the BBC Radio 6 presenter remained upbeat as she shot a smile to the camera in a selfie and admitted that she is "expected to make a full recovery".
Laverne also took a moment to thank "the medical teams who have got me this far with incredible skill and kindness" as well as her family, friends and colleagues at the Beeb.
Logan, 51, was just one BBC co-star who reached out to Laverne following the announcement, writing a response to her colleague's Instagram post.
The BBC Sport presenter took to the comments to write: "Sending you all the love and positive healing Lauren."
Logan finished off her message with a string of love heart emojis and before long, several other faces from the Beeb flooded Laverne with their well wishes.
"Sending you vibes upon vibes," Countryfile star Anita Rani wrote while Strictly presenter Claudia Winkleman weighed in: "Sending so much love xxxx."
Elsewhere, author Caitlin Moran added: "Loz, we know you’re going to be a queen through this like you are a queen through everything. But I do want to boot cancer in the nuts. LOVE YOU FOREVER xxxx."

Magic FM radio host Emma Wilson even got a response from Laverne in hospital as she penned: "Ahhhhh Lauren you absolute legend…
"Fellow cancer DJ sharing postivity, love & confidence to say ‘not today I’m going to take it easy’ You got this dude .. here if you wanna chat x," Wilson added to which Laverne replied: "Thank you, doll. This is such good advice xxx."
As well as announcing her own health diagnosis, Laverne was also keen to encourage her followers to get checked in order to spot signs of the illness as early as possible.
She signed off her post by typing: "I also want to say that if you’re avoiding a test or putting off an appointment to get yourself checked out please, please do it today.
"Half of us will get cancer at some point, and if you do, finding out asap is everything. It’s usually my job to bring the good vibes on air but any you have to spare are very much welcome here.

Meanwhile, Logan hit headlines earlier this month after taking part in the BBC's presenting coverage for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
There were several talking points from the presenter's stint in the French capital, including controversy for seemingly dropping an expletive during one broadcast and branding one Olympian "selfish" for competing while ill with Covid.
Logan missed out on presenting the BBC's coverage of the closing ceremony as Clare Balding took over but that didn't stop her sharing her damning verdict on the event on social media.
