Strictly Come Dancing has unveiled the songs and dances the remaining stars will face in Week Eight

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing are convinced show bosses have "chosen" who they want to see in the dance-off after the routines and song choices for Week Eight were unveiled.

Last week, viewers' fears were correct when they pre-empted Adam Thomas' exit due to the dance style he was given in Week Seven.

The Waterloo Road star lost his spot in the competition as Angela Rippon was chosen to retain her place by the judges following the dance-off.

While Rippon has since addressed the "upsetting" ordeal after sparking controversy with her dance-off success, fans are now convinced she'll manage to avoid the dreaded red light in Week Eight.

Instead, they've pinpointed two other members of the Strictly class of 2023 who they feel are more likely to land in the bottom two.

The unfortunate stars this time around are Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Annabel Croft - and it's all down to the dance they've been given for Week Eight.

Both the Channel 4 newsreader and former tennis pro will tackle the Samba, with Guru-Murthy performing to Gipsy Kings' Bamboleo and Croft dancing to Shakira's Whenever, Wherever.

The Samba is notoriously tricky for competitors to pull, with actor Danny Mac and his pro partner Oti Mabuse the only ones to achieve a perfect score for it back in the series 14 final.

Fast-paced, passionate and energetic, Strictly fans feel that by giving Croft and Guru-Murthy the routine they've been set up to fail.

Many of the complaints emerged on Reddit, with u/AngryToast94 saying: "Predicting an Annabelle / Krishnan dance off based off this."

This was echoed by u/Wittys-revival-4933 who put: "Looks like a samba off this week."

Elsewhere, u/RainbowRevolver feared: "Annabel & Krishnan getting a samba, might be curtains for one of them."

And u/Cheap_Wishbone_9734 added: "Anabelle, Krishnan, and Angela S (the ones chosen to be eliminated this week) will be in danger and probably in the dance-off this week."

Fans' fear were echoed over on Instgaram as one follower commented on the Week Eight routine reveal video: "This week may be the curse of the samba."

Krishnan Guru-Murthy

"They really are trying to set Annabelle and Krishnan up with the samba," another claimed while a fellow Instagram user suggested: "Krishnan and Anabelle were chosen to be eliminated this week. And I'd say Angela S will be in trouble too." (sic)

Fans will have to tune into Sunday's results show to find out if their fears come to fruition - that is of course if Strictly avoids the leaks it's been suffering in previous weeks.

While Guru-Murthy and Croft both have the Samba to contend with, all of their fellow competitors are dancing different styles.

Ellie Leach will take on a Rumba, Nigel Harman has a Couple's Choice, Angela Scanlon will perform a Waltz, Angela Rippon has a Paso Doble to rehearse, Layton Williams is taking on the Argentine Tango, and Bobby Brazier will dance the American Smooth.

Last week, Croft finished third on the leaderboard with her best score of the series so far (35) after an emotional Couple's Choice in memory of late husband Mel Coleman - a routine which left her "sobbing" backstage in the week prior.

Guru-Murthy was slightly lower on the leaderboard after finishing in fifth with 29 points for his own Couple's Choice.
