Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are being held back by the "toxic York brand" according to a royal commentator.

The Duke of York stepped down as a working royal following a disastrous interview with the BBC's Newsnight regarding his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News that Eugenie and Beatrice are facing problems due to their disgraced father's reputation.

Discussing whether the princesses could become working royals in the future, Fitzwilliams said: "It is a possibility but I would suggest that it is a possibility in the longer term.
"The problem is the York brand is pretty toxic."
He added: "They have attended royal events and occasionally carried out royal engagements, if that was to increase a little then that would be appropriate.
"So far as becoming working members of the Royal Family or doing a large number of engagements, I would not have thought that was very likely because of the problems that still beset Andrew and his image."

Actress Charity Wakefield played Princess Beatrice and Rufus Sewell portrayed Prince Andrew in Scoop.
During a scene in the film, Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice take a meeting with BBC presenter Emily Maitlis and booker Sam McAlister regarding the interview.
McAlister quizzes the royal on whether he is aware of the backlash on social media to his friendship with Epstein.

Andrew responds by saying that he does not pay attention to social media before Beatrice interjects and tells her father: "I do".
The Duke of York's eldest daughter adds: "[It's] a lot worse than what she just said."
Princess Eugenie does not feature in the Netflix film.
