The Princess of York is being played by Charity Wakefield

The first glimpse of Princess Beatrice has been seen in the Netflix trailer for a new Prince Andrew film.

Scoop, starring Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson, is a new drama film focusing on the famous Newsnight interview between Emily Maitlis and Prince Andrew.

In 2019, the Duke of York sat down for a career-ending interview with Maitlis, where he discussed his friendship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Princess Beatrice, Andrew's eldest daughter, will have a part in the film played by actress Charity Wakefield.

In the trailer, Wakefield can be seen sitting dutifully next to Sewell, who is playing Prince Andrew.

Maitlis has been open about the fact that Princess Beatrice was present when the royal team negotiated the conditions of the interview with the BBC.

Newsnight producer Sam McAlister is being depicted by Billie Piper in the film.

McAlister previously said when the Duke of York announced he had brought someone with him to the negotiations, she assumed he meant a lawyer.

The producer said: "Instead around the corner comes his daughter, Princess Beatrice.

"That was really quite a curve ball of curve balls.

"Can you imagine being in Buckingham Palace about to talk to a member of the Royal Family about sexual offences?

"That’s pretty tricky. And now I’ve got to do it in front of his daughter."

McAlister previously described how Beatrice took notes on a clipboard at the meeting and appeared "anxious".

In the trailer for Scoop, Wakefield as Princess Beatrice can be seen holding a notebook and pen.

The film is based on the book Scoops: Behind The Scenes of the BBC's Most Shocking Interview by McAlister.

The 2019 interview made headlines around the world after the duke discussed his relationship with Epstein.
