Prince Harry had long suggested a future outside the Royal Family was in the offing, but stayed put due to his relationship with Queen Elizabeth II, according to Angela Levin.
The royal author told GB News that the Duke was “wonderful” during her encounter with him, but dropped a hint that he “might like to move on” from royal duties.
Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020 before heading across the pond with wife Meghan Markle, where the couple have taken on a number of business endeavours.
Levin said Harry always held resentment for other members of the royal establishment, including his brother, Prince William.

“I think he’s remembered everything from a small age when William got one more sausage than him and he would be very annoyed about it.
“All those tiny little things that annoyed him have grown enormously over time. I think he won’t be able to change back into the lovely Harry.
“When I interviewed him for my biography of him, he was charming. He was wonderful with people and really happy.
“Although he had said he might like to move on, but he wanted to stay there for the Queen.”
Since Harry’s departure from royal duties, relations between him and the family have become strained.
The chasm has further widened as a result of bombshell revelations laid bare in productions such as Harry’s memoir, Spare.
A book released last week by royal author Omid Scobie appears to have compounded matters with a series of staggering allegations.
Endgame, which was published on Tuesday, argues that the future of the monarchy is “in a crisis” and in a “fight for survival”.
Princess Kate is also accused of being “cold” and ignoring the Duchess of Sussex’s “cries for help”.
The King’s relationship with his son, the Prince of Wales, is examined with a “source” making a scathing comment about the heir to the throne’s opinion of his father.
The source said: “William (doesn’t) think his father is competent enough, quite frankly. Though they share passions and interests, their style of leadership is completely different.”
In the book a “source” claims that Kate can be “cold if she doesn’t like someone” and the writer goes on to say: “This is a side of Kate that rarely gets written about.
“Advocating for mental health causes – the mental health of mothers, for that matter – but ignoring her own sister-in-law’s cries for help seemed out of character for someone the public knew as sweet and easy to get along with.”
