Hair growth advice has become ubiquitous across the internet, but many of the techniques gaining attention are eventually labelled as fads.
With dedication, patience, and the right products, however, many users achieve noticeable results, sometimes in as little as a month. This was the case for one TikToker who told viewers how combining Nizoral shampoo with minoxidil helped fill in her hairline.
Gabriella Barras told viewers in a recent clip: “There are two products in my routine that I would highly recommend for people struggling with hair loss. They’re the most important - and actually the cheapest - among all of them.”

Nizoral shampoo is the first product mentioned, with Gabriella noting: “I got the 20ml just because they didn’t have the 10mg in stock, but it worked wonders.”

The Oxford Online Pharmacy notes that while the product is traditionally used to target dandruff, it can also benefit hair growth.
This is because the product works predominantly by blocking the DHT hormone, leading to fuller, healthier hair.
“Since Nizoral was designed to treat scalp conditions linked to irritation and hair shedding, it may help people with dandruff create a healthier environment for hair growth, improving hair thickness,” the health body states.
Gabriella introduced the product into her routine because it contains ketoconazole, adding: "This shampoo is a game-changer. What I do is use it every second or third wash. I leave it on my scalp for five minutes and let it soak in. From the first wash, I noticed a crazy difference."
The second product she swears by is minoxidil, which works by increasing blood flow to the hair follicle.
“Every single night before I went to bed, I applied minoxidil to all the patches where I was losing hair," Gabriella noted. “Even though it’s wet, when you wake up in the morning, it soaks in really well and doesn’t make your hair super greasy.”

Board-certified dermatologist and senior consultant at Medpack Solutions, Dr Stephanie Taylor, explained that while the products may benefit most individuals suffering from hair loss, they typically won’t restore bald spots within one month.
“I’ve been treating individuals with thinning hair for 12 years and understand how frustrating it is to wait," she told GB News.
“Everyone wishes to see results in a hurry because that’s what we want to see ourselves. Hair is slow to grow, and most individuals notice results in three months, not one.
“You may notice less shedding after a month and feel that your scalp is a bit thicker, but it rarely shows actual hair regrowth that quickly.”
