Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been accused of “not wanting to work hard” amid a spate of criticism from a series of top Hollywood executives, including top talent agent Jeremy Zimmer.
The Sussexes suffered a financial blow as a lucrative podcast deal with Spotify was ended by mutual agreement.
Meghan and Harry’s production company Archewell Audio made just one podcast series for the streaming giant having signed a contract in late 2020, estimated to be worth around 25 million US dollars (£19.5 million).
Speaking on GB News, American journalist Megyn Kelly says the pair have been “outed to the world”, something evidenced by recent backlash the pair have faced.
She told Dan Wootton: “The thing that bothers me the most is that they don’t want to work hard. That has been at the heart of their troubles from the beginning.
“This is more than half of the reason they left the Royal Family, they didn’t want to do the hard work. They only wanted all the accolades, they didn’t want to go to the ribbon-cutting ceremonies, they wanted to wear the Crown Jewels.
“And now they go into the podcast industry and realise it’s hard. It actually takes hard work, they thought they’d be number one and not have to be number one.
“They thought it looked quite sexy, but the hard work makes the difference.”

It comes after the Duchess of Sussex was dubbed not “necessarily any kind of talent” by United Talent Agency (UTA) chief executive Jeremy Zimmer, who made the comments about Meghan during a discussion on podcasting at the Cannes Lions advertising festival in France.
Spotify executive Bill Simmons, who founded the Ringer podcast network, has also taken aim at the pair, labelling them “f****** grifters” after the announcement of their Spotify deal cancellation.
Meghan’s podcast Archetypes featured guests including Paris Hilton, Mindy Kaling, Mariah Carey and Serena Williams in its short life.
A joint statement from Harry and Meghan’s Archewell media company and Spotify said the companies had “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together”.
Kelly says left-wing and right-wing publications are both attacking the Duke and Duchess.
“They can’t get anything going”, she said.
“No one has any interest in them and pointing out that unless they talk about the ones we really care about, the sitting royals, they’re out of tricks.
“We only care about them as an offshoot of the actual royals. The stories about Harry and his obtuse attempts to recast himself as the next Oprah [Winfrey].
“He apparently wanted to interview Vladimir Putin to talk about his childhood trauma, what could he be thinking?”
