Donald Trump will meet King Charles at Windsor Castle this afternoon after arriving in the UK on Tuesday evening.

Queen Camilla’s attendance at the event hangs in the balance after she was forced to pull out of the Duchess of Kent’s funeral service due to a health condition.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Queen is recovering from acute sinusitis and missed the funeral at Westminster Cathedral in order to rest ahead of President Trump’s State Visit.

The US President will travel to the royal residence and be greeted by Princess Kate and Prince William before being formally welcomed by the King.

The President of the US, the First Lady, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate will then participate in a carriage procession through the Windsor estate, escorted by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

Donald and Melania Trump will then join the King and Queen on the dais before the President, accompanied by King Charles, inspects the Guard of Honour.

After lunch, President Trump will visit St George’s Chapel to privately pay his respects to Queen Elizabeth II and lay a wreath on her tomb.

King Charles will host the traditional white tie state banquet this evening, during which both the monarch and President Trump will deliver speeches.
