A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of Amber Gibson, a teenage girl who was killed in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.
Amber Gibson left her home in the Hillhouse area of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, at around 9.15pm on Friday and was reported missing later that night when she did not return.
The man is set to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday according to Police Scotland.
Police Scotland's Det Supt Raymond Brown, from the major investigation unit, said the teenager's family are "absolutely devastated" by the death.
A large police presence remains in the area, with Cadzow Green Park sealed off.
Gibson was a pupil at Moore House Academy in Bathgate, West Lothian.
A spokesperson from the school said "Our children and staff are devastated at the news of this tragedy, and we are all supporting each other through this difficult time."
