A much colder day with a band of rain across central and south-western parts clearing south-east this morning. Showers then mainly in western and northern areas, and wintry over some northern hills. Windy with gales near North Sea coasts.
Tonight:
Showers for northern and western areas, whilst eastern and southern areas will have fewer showers and more in the way of clear spells. Remaining breezy.
Friday:
Showers affecting northern and western parts with some getting across to the east at times. Southern areas mostly dry with best of sunshine. Breezy at first but winds easing later.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Mostly dry on Saturday but rain moving in to the northwest, spreading across on most parts Sunday before clearing leaving a mix of sunshine and showers. Likely thundery in places.
