The Spaniard is hoping to win the tournament for the third year on the trot

Carlos Alcaraz was mobbed by fans after leaving a practice session on Sunday ahead of the 2025 Wimbledon final.

The 22-year-old is currently preparing to face world No 1 Jannik Sinner as he looks to win the prestigious Grand Slam for the third year in a row.

Alcaraz trained lightly on Sunday, with the Spaniard then mobbed by fans as he left the practice session.

Images show the tennis star stopping to sign autographs, with Alcaraz also embracing a few special spectators who had turned up to watch him.

Whether he can now go out and win the sixth Grand Slam of his career remains to be seen.

Alcaraz hasn't lost at Wimbledon since 2022, when Sinner beat him in four sets.

The world No 2 was too strong for Novak Djokovic the following year as he won the major for the very first time.

And Alcaraz was able to demolish the Serb in 2024, with Djokovic struggling with the youngster's intensity during the proceedings on Centre Court.

The tennis star will be going up against Sinner just weeks after the pair battled it out in the final of the French Open.

Alcaraz seemed to be down and out after losing the first two sets but proceeded to rally and emerge victorious in a contest that lasted five hours and 29 minutes.

The rivalry between the two men has already been compared to the days when Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were slogging it out for Grand Slam glory.

And Alcaraz has only positive things to say about it, too.

“I think the things that we are doing right now I think is great for tennis," he said before today's match.

“We just fight [to] engage more people to watch tennis. We’re just fighting for the tennis to be bigger.”

He added: "I'm not going to say I'm feeling like when Rafa [Nadal] and Roger [Federer] are playing.

"But I'm feeling like it is a different energy when we are facing each other than other players.

"It's going to be a great day, a great final. I'm just excited about it.

"I just hope not to be five and a half hours again. But if I have to, I will."

Sinner was also asked about the Federer-Nadal comparisons.

He responded by saying: "You cannot compare what the 'Big Three' did for 15-plus years. [Our rivalry] is not that big yet.

"This is the second consecutive Grand Slam that we are in the final and playing each other - I believe it's good for the sport.

"The more rivalries we have from now on, the better it is, because people want to see young player going against each other."
