The two men will battle it out in Saudi Arabia on February 17

Roy Jones Jr feels explosive punching power is Tyson Fury's 'kryptonite' as his clash with Oleksandr Usyk creeps closer.

The two fighters will meet in the ring on February 17, with boxing fans from all over the world primed to tune in.

Fury and Usyk are both unbeaten ahead of the bout.

Yet the Briton is under pressure after labouring his way to victory over Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Fury underwhelmed that night and some feel the 35-year-old is now a faded force as a result.

Jones Jr has now been asked for his prediction and he's hailed both men, insisting it's difficult to pick out a winner.

However, he has warned Fury that powerful punching is his weakness - though thinks he doesn't need to worry about that with Usyk.

Speaking to ProBox TV, Jones Jr said: “Well, I’m going to be honest with you, I like both fighters.

"Both are friends of mine and I can’t say which one will necessarily dominate.

"In old terms, the good big guy usually beats the big little guy, but Usyk is a little bit different.

“He’s a more complex little guy than most guys around.

"Like when I fought John Ruiz, I wasn’t just a little guy, I was a pretty complex little guy.

“Now to his bad side, he does not have explosive punching power.

"And that’s the kryptonite for Fury cause [Francis] Ngannou has explosive punching power and was able to put him down.

"[Deontay] Wilder had it and was able to put him down a couple times."

Jones Jr has also been impressed by Fury's ability to get back up whenever he's knocked down.

He famously secured a draw against Deontay Wilder in 2018 after being knocked to the canvas during that fight.

And Fury showed his durability by getting back up after a strong blow from Ngannou back in October.

Jones Jr added: “Fury has been down seven times in his career but he got up every time. That says a lot.

"It takes a lot of explosive power to put him down but a cruiserweight with explosive power can do it because John Cunningham did it.

“Usyk needs to put him down, but can you keep him down? That’s not been done yet.

"Can Usyk put him down multiple times and keep him down? If Usyk can’t put him down I can’t see him winning the fight.”

Meanwhile, Usyk has expressed a belief he's got into Fury's head as their showdown nears.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Ukrainian said: "Firstly, it's not 'if' I win but 'when' I win.

"When I go to sleep I imagine myself boxing, then my hand raised high. I simply believe that I can win.

"I got into his head and now instead of me, he thinks about a rabbit. Keep thinking, brother."

And when asked about Fury calling him a 'rabbit', Usyk added: "I have listened to Eminem for many years, his mum used to call him a white rabbit.

"I don't know, I like this rapper.

"Tony Bellew once said that I am a beast in boxing, I said: 'Not really, I'm just a white rabbit.'"
