The Queen made a random style choice during her outing in Swindon

Queen Camilla's mismatch has sparked a royal fan frenzy over a potential blunder.

The Queen visited a women's refuge in Swindon to mark the 50th anniversary of the Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service (SDASS) on Monday.

It comes as Camilla gave an update on King Charles's health during her outing, after news emerged last week about his enlarged prostate.

Eagle-eyed royal fans noticed Queen Camilla, 76, was wearing mismatched earrings during her engagement.

A royal fashion finder with the username @Remisagoodboy posted on X: "Yesterday, Queen Camilla’s jewellery was interesting and even by her standards, as her earrings were mismatched.

"On her left ear was a favourite pearl pendant clip-on, one of a pair she first debuted on her wedding day in 2005 and has worn repeatedly since.

"On her right was a gold earring encrusted with gems.

"While many have sported the mismatched earrings as cutting-edge fashion; I do have to wonder if this was on purpose or like many of us… an absent-minded mistake."

One fan replied: "It's surprising those who care for her clothing and jewellery didn't catch this.

"That's almost an unheard-of mistake in royal fashion for that reason, isn't it? I could be wrong but it was my understanding clothing and jewellery are pulled and assembled weeks in advance of the calendar.

"Seams and hems checked, buttons or snaps, checked for stray threads, stains, wear. Steamed and pressed and in a garment bag for the day of, plus shoes of course.

"Jewellery polished and checked for loose stones or clasps etc."

Another said: "It makes her 'human' like the rest of us! I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have done it deliberately - not sure that's her style!

"Maybe it was testing our observation skills which I have to admit, I failed miserably!"

Someone said: "I think she couldn't make her mind up which pair to wear so decided to wear both! It'll catch on!"

In addition, a fan posted: "Just shows Queen Camilla is human, as so many expect her to be some sort of superhuman that never makes mistakes. I love it!"
