Donald Trump's "attention" was on Prince William, according to a body language expert who spoke exclusively to GB News, as he held hands with Melania Trump amid their arrival at Windsor today.

Eagle-eyed royal watchers immediately noticed that Mr and Mrs Trump were holding hands, whilst Kate and William walked stoically side-by-side without physically touching each other.

Commenting on Mr and Mrs Trump's body language during their first day in Windsor, Inbaal Honigman told GB News: "Despite holding hands with his wife, Trump's attention is on Prince William and not on Melania.

"The handholding seems choreographed, functional, not romantic or affectionate."

The body language expert claimed: "Their arms and hands aren't hanging naturally and neutrally, quite the opposite.

"Their shoulders and arms are still and stiff. This gives the appearance of a planned decision to hold hands.

"They're not using their hands to stay close together; rather, their stiff arms keep them apart from one another.

"Trump is seen chatting to the prince and leaning towards him, meaning that all of his focus is on communicating with William."

Melania Trump did "not break royal protocol" by not curtsying to Princess Kate or Queen Camilla, a royal commentator has claimed.

Royal historian Marlene Koenig explained why this wasn’t a breach of etiquette, saying: "It's not customary for Americans or indeed people from countries where King Charles is not the sovereign to curtsy or bow."

She added that this tradition goes back to the American Revolution, continuing to tell Hello!: "The Declaration of Independence states that 'all men are created equal'.

"The nation was founded on rejecting the notion that some people are born into a higher status, meaning that acts of subservience like curtsying or bowing do not adhere to their core values."

Lieutenant Colonel Simon Soskin of the Grenadier Guards said the King and Donald Trump were “grateful” after the Beating Retreat.

Lt Col Soskin, who was tasked with planning the ceremony, told the PA news agency: “We were asked to put on a spectacular performance to end the day of welcoming and so we pulled in our three bands, one for each service, invited the Americans, sprinkled in some bagpipers and it came together very well.”

Asked what the King and US president said to the gathered military personnel who watched the ceremony, Lt Col Soskin said: “They took a few moments to say hello.

“I said hello to the president on the way past, which I like because my family are American, so I’ll be telling my parents later.

“They were grateful, I think, the President was really pleased to see the junior American service personnel.”

Donald Trump and Melania Trump have watched a spectacular military flypast with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

It comes as the UK-US flypast was scaled back due to strong winds and low cloud in London.

The F-35 fighter jets, which were due to fly over Windsor, did not fly as previously expected.

The iconic Red Arrows still put on a spectacular display, despite the cloudy conditions.
