Sue Gray has been tasked with investigating a range of allegations about parties and gatherings held in 2020 and 2021 inside No.10 while a variety of Covid restrictions were in place.
Her report could decide the Prime Minister's fate over the "Partygate" scandal.
These parties under investigation include a “bring your own booze” event at No 10 on May 20 2020, which the Prime Minister has admitted attending but that he said he thought was a work event.
The probe also takes in two leaving bashes held in Downing Street the night before the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral last year.
Today Downing Street has disputed a report suggesting Boris Johnson held a birthday party inside Downing Street attended by up to 30 people during the first lockdown.
A No 10 spokeswoman said: “A group of staff working in No 10 that day gathered briefly in the Cabinet Room after a meeting to wish the Prime Minister a happy birthday. He was there for less than ten minutes.”
“This is totally untrue. In line with the rules at the time, the Prime Minister hosted a small number of family members outside that evening,” the spokeswoman added.
While there is still no confirmed date for the publication of Sue Gray's report into alleged Downing Street parties, the hope in No. 10 is that it will come in the middle of the week.
Boris John son will be given a chance to go through the reports as it is given to him in advanced notice before it is published and made public.
Johnson's advisers had hoped that it will reach them by Tuesday evening so the PM would be able to make a statement during PMQs in the House of Commons.
However the report has been delayed numerous times as the scope of the report grows with new allegations, this new party reported by ITV to have taken place on the Prime Minister's birthday the report is likely to be delayed once again.
Dominic Cummings also gave Sue Gray evidence today – the former Downing Street aide had been expected to be the last person she speaks to but this may now change.
