'Stop putting lives at risk': Rishi Sunak delivers message to Houthi rebels after attacks

Rishi Sunak has delivered a clear message to Houthi rebels after the UK staged attacks on their military facilities.

It marks the first time strikes have been launched against the group since it started targeting international shipping in the Red Sea late last year, and it vowed there would be retaliation.

Speaking from Ukraine, Sunak said the attack was carried out in a bid to "de-escalate tensions".

"We have acted in self defence", he said.

"It is incumbent now on the Houthis to stop carrying out these attacks, putting people's lives at risk."
