The Queen's former press secretary revealed to GB News presenters Isabel Webster and Stephen Dixon that the Queen remains head of the family.
Dickie Arbiter told Isabel and Stephen: "She's head of the family, head of state and head of the commonwealth. If anybody misbehaves up there she tells them don't muck around."
Isabel reflected upon Prince William's previous balcony appearance at a flypast, the Duke of Cambridge knelt down to tend to his son Prince George, when he was nudged by his grandmother to stand up and acknowledge the flypast.

When asked if the Queen was still the boss of the Royal Family, Mr Arbiter replied: "She is the boss although she would have said when Prince Phillip was alive he's head of the family, she's head of state, head of nation and head of the commonwealth.
"But yes she's taken very much the lead and if anyone misbehaves up there, she tells them you know 'don't muck around' lookout because we are being watched".

Mr Arbiter served as press spokesman for the Queen from 1988 until 2000.
The Royal Family are set to appear on the balcony at 1pm for the RAF flypast marking the Queen's "official" birthday and Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Buckingham Palace confirmed spaces on the balcony for the flypast are exclusively reserved for working members of the Royal Family.
In a statement earlier this month, Buckingham Palace stated: “After careful consideration, the Queen has decided this year’s traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday 2nd June will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the royal family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen.”
Apart from Prince Andrew, the Queen will be accompanied by all of her children on the balcony.
Andrew, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been barred from appearing on the balcony, as they renounced their royal duties.
