The number of migrants that have crossed into Britain this year is almost 23,000

More than 1200 migrants have crossed the English Channel in small boats in the past 48 hours.

On November 9, at least 20 separate incidents were reported to UK authorities alone, with another wave of small boats arriving in UK waters this morning.

Yesterday saw almost 700 people cross the Channel, with over 500 the day before.

The number who’ve crossed the Channel from France into Britain this year is fast approaching 23,000, almost three times the number intercepted during the whole of last year.

According to GB News' Home and Security Editor Mark White, the growing crisis is putting increasing strain on the volunteer lifeboat crews, who are now often responding to back-to-back-calls.
