As the news emerged that Nigel Farage will not be allowed to join the Conservative party whoever replaces Rishi Sunak as leader - we question whether any Tory leader would be enough to take on Reform.

Mel Stride today confirmed that he would not allow Nigel Farage to sit on the Conservative benches in the Commons.


This means that all of the six candidates to replace Rishi Sunak as leader have turned their faces against working closely with Farage, the leader of the Reform UK party.

But with the Reform Party support continuing to surge, we look at whether any new Tory leader could win back voters from Farage and Reform.
