GB News members have been asked whether they think that Zara Tindall should be allowed to step up in order to cover for Princess Anne who was involved in an accident

Princess Anne was taken to hospital on Sunday after sustaining "minor injuries and concussion" at her Gloucestershire estate.

It's understood that Princess Anne had been walking in the bounds of the Gatcombe Park estate, where she's lived for almost 50 years, when the incident took place.

Emergency services descended on Gatcombe Park, before Anne was transferred to nearby Bristol's Southmead Hospital for appropriate treatment.

The Princess's husband, Sir Tim Laurence, as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Zara and Peter Phillips, were on the estate at the time - while senior royals were informed of the news on Sunday night.

In a statement released on Monday, Buckingham Palace said: "The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening.

"Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.

"The King has been kept closely informed and joins the Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery."

Anne is one of the Royal Family’s most active members in terms of duties and has played an important role stepping up to support King Charles amid his cancer.

Speaking on GB News, Helena Chard suggested royals like Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, could be encouraged to help by stepping into the royal fold.

She said: “There’s definitely room, we can see the cousins stepping up when needed, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

“There’s definitely room for Zara and Mike [Tindall]. They’re full of energy and give complete energy to the Royal Family which is needed.

“We saw them all at Royal Ascot, so animated and full of fun and also united.

“I did not see a Royal Family that is weak and needs help. I think they are giving out a great message.

“As long as the cousins are there and will step in when needed, watch this space.”

In the exclusive poll for GB News membership readers, an overwhelming majority (90 per cent) of the 634 voters thought Zara Tindall should be allowed to step up to cover Princess Anne, while just nine per cent thought she shouldn't. One per cent said they did not know.
