Blusher is a product found in most makeup bags, but according to one beauty enthusiast, very few have mastered its application

While some have a knack for makeup and can create a masterpiece with just a few strokes of a brush, not everyone is so naturally savvy.

But with the right tips and tricks, even absolute novices can achieve professional-level looks.

"Beauty obsessed" content creator Julia (who goes by @Juuujubee on TikTok) offered some top tips for those struggling with their beauty routines.

Alerting ladies to "common makeup mistakes", she provided a quick demonstration of key errors, telling followers: "This is what you are doing wrong."

When it comes to blusher application, think 'gentle press' over 'drag'

Among other tips, she advised fellow makeup users to avoid "dragging" their blusher across their face.

Blusher, which injects a vibrant pop of colour and youth into the cheeks, only works its magic when applied correctly.

According to Julia, blending in your blusher should take the form of "gentle pressing" rather than pulling.

This is because heavier, harsher sweeps "disrupt the products underneath", resulting in a "patchy" appearance, which nobody wants.

When it comes to makeup, the aim of the game is seamless and smooth, so "dragging" products across the face is a big no-no.

Blusher is one of the last steps in a makeup routine, typically following foundation, concealer, contour, and bronzer - so it's important to get it right or else you could ruin what's underneath.

Indeed, the makeup enthusiast warned that blusher application must be done lightly to avoid ruining a lovely look.

Julia also advised makeup users to reconsider their contour placement. While drawing a line below the cheekbones and blending downwards is a go-to technique for many, the beauty guru warned that this is a common error.

Instead, contour connoisseurs know they should draw a line just above their cheekbones and blend upwards. This creates a more lifted, sculpted look.

Fans flooded the comments section, full of praise for Julia's handy advice. One said: "Everything is super helpful." Another added: "More of these, please!"
