The King’s brother previously lived in a 30-room mansion

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lives at Marsh Farm with a scaled-back household, according to royal biographer Andrew Lownie.

In the updated paperback edition of his book, Entitled, Mr Lownie claimed the 66-year-old's domestic arrangements have been reduced to just three members of staff supporting him.

He wrote: "Andrew now had to rely on just a housekeeper, a cook and general aide, alongside a team of police protection officers.

"His only other company were two corgis that had once belonged to the late Queen and several Norfolk terriers."

GB News has contacted Mr Mountbatten-Windsor for comment.

The contrast with his former 30-room Royal Lodge residence, which sat on 98 acres, is stark.

For close to 20 years, Mr Mountbatten-Windsor occupied Royal Lodge in Windsor under a long-term lease arrangement that required only nominal rent payments.

He continued living there with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, despite their divorce.

Following sustained public pressure and his subsequent eviction by King Charles III at the start of 2026, he made the move to Norfolk.

Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate served as temporary accommodation while his permanent home was prepared.

Marsh Farm has since undergone various improvements, including fresh carpeting and additional fencing.

Security measures now include CCTV installation, and the property's stables have been converted to accommodate his horses.

The security arrangements at his new residence were put to the test last week when an incident allegedly unfolded near the village of Wolferton on the evening of Wednesday, May 6.

Alex Jenkinson, 39, pleaded not guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards Mr Mountbatten-Windsor near his home.

Mr Jenkinson appeared at Westminster magistrates' court last Friday, with his arm in a sling.

The 39-year-old computer science graduate from Suffolk is accused of threatening Mr Mountbatten-Windsor close to his residence on the Sandringham estate.

Last Thursday, the Norfolk Constabulary stated: “Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village.”

The Constabulary confirmed the man was arrested and that “he was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning and remains in custody.”
