Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has branded the alleged Championship spying scandal "evil" as uncertainty continues to surround next weekend's play-off final.
The Tigers are currently scheduled to face Southampton at Wembley in what is widely regarded as the richest match in football, with a place in the Premier League at stake.
However, the final remains clouded by an ongoing English Football League investigation into allegations that an individual connected to Southampton observed a Middlesbrough training session before the clubs met in the play-off semi-finals.
Southampton have been charged under EFL regulations and, if found to have breached the rules, could face a range of sanctions.
Those could include a fine, points deduction or, in the most severe scenario, expulsion from the play-offs.
That possibility has left Middlesbrough's players delaying the start of their summer break, with the squad expected to return to training while they await the outcome of the disciplinary process.
Hull, meanwhile, are also in limbo as they prepare for a final that could yet be postponed or involve different opposition.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Ilicali said he did not want to prejudge the case while the investigation remains ongoing.

"I don't know what the officials will decide," he said.
"I don't want to make any statements because it is something that is being investigated. We don't know exactly who is involved or who is responsible."
But when asked how he would feel if Hull were the victims of a similar incident, the Turkish businessman made his feelings clear.
"If everything is completely true and there is zero doubt, I would be furious," he said.

"I know the owners of Southampton and they are good people, so I am sure this has nothing to do with them.

Ilicali stopped short of calling for Southampton to be removed from the competition, stressing that it would be wrong to speculate before the disciplinary process is complete.
"I'm not sure what the punishment should be," he added.

"If we win, we are going to be in the Premier League and that is our dream," Ilicali said.
"Whether it is Southampton or Middlesbrough, I believe it is a 50-50 game and we have every chance."
The EFL could even delay the play-off final, with fans and players in a state of limbo.
