When it comes to looking younger, inflammatory foods should be avoided

While many people fear the physical changes that come with growing old, there are many tools to age gracefully.

Morgen Schick, soon to be 60, is frequently asked how she maintains a natural and healthy glow - and she credits five factors.

In a recent clip, the content creator broke down her skincare and dietary regimen and explained why a positive attitude is key.

She said: “In three months I will be 60 - a lot of people ask me ‘what do you do to look good and natural and healthy at 60'.”

The 'number one' element is exercise, according to Morgen. This should be included in your day-to-day life and include five different modalities.

In other words, variety is key, so make sure you adhere to one workout regime for 30 to 45 minutes a day, repeating this five to seven times a week.

“Also, incorporate some sort of weight lifting,” added Morgen. “Whether this is adding weight to your arms and your legs when you’re doing your aerobic class or walking, or taking an actual weight lifting class.”

The number two golden rule for ageing gracefully is avoiding seed oils at all costs, said Morgen.

“They are highly inflammatory, your body does not know what to do with them, and they cause many of the ailments that are ageing us quickly,” she explained.

Skincare is equally important, and Morgen advises not to use a cleanser on the face every morning. She recommends limiting cleanser use to nights only.

“Wash it at night and then put on all of your products, like vitamin C, a retinol in the winter, exfoliants, hydration,” she said.

In the morning, Morgen splashes her face five or six times with clean, fresh water.

The fourth tip on Morgen’s list is controversial as it involves abstaining from foundation and tinted moisturiser.

“I want only good and nourishing ingredients to be attached to water,” explained Morgan, adding that she only uses concealer to correct imperfections.

“Number five, probably the most important part to living an ageless thriving life, is to be responsible for your own joy,” said Morgan.

“It is no one’s elses responsibility for you to find happiness, fulfilment, and joy, but yours! I wake up every single day and choose happiness.

In a recent conversation with GB News, transformational wellness coach and founder of One Life at Home, Gillian McMichael, stressed the importance of an active lifestyle when reaching your golden years.

“Staying active helps maintain a healthy weight, but did you know that it has been proven to also help you look younger,” she said.
