Tesco has warned two products could potentially cause a serious health risk.

While the use-by date of the affected batch has passed, it is suitable for freezing so Britons should check they do not still have it.

The meat product has been recalled due to the detection of salmonella.

This can cause symptoms such as fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and headaches.

A Tesco statement said: "Karro McGees are recalling a specific date code of Cookstown Butter and Herb Stuffed Pork Fillet Wrapped in Bacon 700g, due to detection of salmonella in the product.

"If not cooked properly, this may pose a risk to customer health."

Anyone who has purchased the packs should not eat them but return to stores for a full refund.

The statement continued: "If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t eat it.

"Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required."

Tesco's cupcakes have also been recalled due to undeclared allergens.

Cupcakes could pose a risk for those with allergies

Tesco stated: "We’re recalling one batch of Tesco 18 Cupcakes, as some packs have incorrect cakes that contain soya, which isn’t declared on the ingredients label.

"This poses a risk to those with a soya allergy/intolerance.

"If you’ve bought an affected product and have an allergy/intolerance to soya, please don’t eat it. Instead, return it to a Tesco store for a refund."

This comes as Lidl issues an urgent food recall as customers have been warned of a "potentially life-threatening" product.
