Drivers are being warned of new recalls impacting popular vehicles from some of the biggest automakers in the world, as various issues could place motorists in danger.

In recent weeks, around 860,000 vehicles have been subject to a vehicle recall over fears including fuel leaks and concerns that could worsen any injuries occurred in an accident.


GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls of the past week that motorists need to know about.

According to new documents filed with the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford will be recalling almost 700,000 vehicles.

Certain 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2020-2022 Escape vehicles equipped with 1.5L engines are the subject of the recall.

It warns that a fuel injector in the 1.5L engine may crack and leak fuel inside the engine compartment.

The recall documents state that a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, like a hot engine or exhaust components, can increase the risk of a fire.

Ford has not yet developed a remedy yet, although dealers will update the engine control software for free.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed out in mid-August, with a second letter detailing the remedy when it's available.

Certain 2023-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L will be recalled by Stellantis under its Chrysler FCA US company.

There are fears that the second-row seat head restraints may not lock in the upright position, which can result in an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

In total, 121,398 vehicles are being recalled as they fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 202, "Head Restraints".

As Daimler, Mercedes-Benz is recalling 43,422 Metris vehicles from model years between 2020 and 2023.

The electrical connections for the infotainment system may not be properly secured, which can cause the rearview camera image not to display.

If the driver cannot see the view of what's behind them, they could have a higher chance of being involved in an accident.
