Another popular car brand has launched a new electric vehicle grant ahead of Labour's planned incentive scheme, launching within the next month.
UK motorists can now access substantial discounts on Hyundai's electric vehicle range through a newly introduced Electric Grant scheme. Hyundai has become the latest brand to introduce grants after MG, Leapmotor and GWM.
The programme delivers £3,750 in savings for buyers of the Inster model, which recently secured the 2025 World EV of the Year title.
Other models in Hyundai's electric portfolio qualify for £1,500 reductions, encompassing the Kona Electric, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 9.

|Hyundai has launched its Electric Grant with savings available immediately
The initiative takes effect immediately (Friday, July 25) at Hyundai dealerships throughout Great Britain.
The grants apply to retail purchases, Hyundai Affinity schemes and Contract Hire agreements, marking a significant intervention to reduce upfront costs for electric vehicle adoption.
Hyundai has structured the programme to eliminate confusion around costs and demonstrate clear value propositions for potential buyers.
Extended test drive opportunities form part of the offering, with 24-hour trials available for all electric models.

This allows prospective customers to assess whether an electric vehicle suits their daily routines and requirements before committing to a purchase.
The manufacturer positions these initiatives as essential tools for addressing customer concerns about electric vehicle adoption, particularly regarding initial investment and practical suitability for individual circumstances.
Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai and Genesis UK, emphasised the significance of the new grant programme: "As the electric vehicle landscape continues to evolve, it is important that customers have complete clarity, choice and compelling value when making the switch to electric.
"Our diverse EV portfolio means we can offer something for every driving need, from the compact and efficient Inster to our flagship Ioniq 9 seven-seat SUV.

Hyundai's electric range has garnered multiple prestigious accolades, with the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 each claiming triple World Car of the Year honours.
The Ioniq 5 N earned recognition as Top Gear's Performance Car of the Year, while the Kona Electric maintains its position amongst Britain's most sought-after electric SUVs.
The recently launched Ioniq 9 expands the manufacturer's electric offerings with three-row seating and advanced technological features, which form part of Hyundai's wider strategy to reach carbon neutrality by 2045.
Additional savings are available through the Electrifying Summer Event, providing an extra £500 discount on Inster and Kona Electric purchases until August 31.
According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Hyundai has sold almost 49,000 new vehicles this year.
As a result, Hyundai has a market share of 4.68 per cent, as well as sales are 6.46 per cent higher than they were at the same time last year.
Hyundai's impressive sales figures place the brand in the 10 best-selling manufacturers in the UK so far this year.
